We revisit the description of femtoscopic correlation functions beyond the asymptotic wave-function approximation, quantifying corrections arising from the short-distance structure of the interaction potential and the finite size of the particle-emitting source. We further extend the formalism by cosistently incorporating Coulomb interactions at the short distances relevant for femtoscopy within the Lippmann–Schwinger equation. We introduce a phenomenological parameter that effectively captures the combined impact of finite-source-size effects and the off-shell structure of the interaction, the latter representing one of the main obstacles to extracting detailed information on baryon-meson or, in general, hadron-hadron interactions from femtoscopic measurements in a model-independent way.
