Valencia is the third largest city in Spain (800k people), situated on the shores of the Mediterranean sea. Mild climate (~20ºC expected in September).

It has been selected as one of the "52 Places to Go in 2024" by the New York Times, highlighting its "miles of velvety sand beaches, a vibrant cultural scene and a rich gastronomic tradition".

Valencia tips:

  • City of Arts and Sciences
    Avant-garde complex designed by the Valencian architect Santiago Calatrava.
     
  • Cathedral
    Gothic-style building, started in the 13th century, with a dedicated Chapel for the Holy Chalice.
     
  • El Micalet / El Miguelete
    Valencian Gothic-style bell tower of Valencia's Cathedral, built during the 14th and 15th century. Access to the tower is from inside the Cathedral by means of a spiral staircase with 207 steps.
     
  • The Silk Exchange (La Lonja de la Seda)
    Declared UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996.
     
  • Church of San Nicolás de Bari and San Pedro Mártir
    Recently restored, revealing a pictorial display that experts have called the Valencian "Sistine Chapel".
     
  • Serranos Towers (Torres de Serranos)
    One of the two remaining gates of the old medieval city wall (14th century).
     
  • Quart Towers (Torres de Quart)
    One of the two remaining gates of the old medieval city wall (15th century).
     
  • Round Square (Plaza Redonda)
    One of Valencia’s most unique tourist attractions due to its peculiar design surrounded by traditional craft shops and tapas bars at street level.
     
  • Central Market (Mercado Central)
    Europe's largest fresh produce market.
