Hard exclusive processes in lepton-hadron and hadron-hadron collisions provide, through their sensitivity to generalised parton distributions (GPDs), information on the 3D distribution of quarks and gluons inside the nucleon, as a function of their longitudinal momentum fraction and transverse position. These concepts will be discussed and a brief overview of existing and planned measurements will be given. Here, the complementarity between different physics channels and collision systems will be highlighted.
