Descripción
Skyrmions were first proposed in QCD, where they provide a topological description of baryons as solitonic excitations of the pion field. Their emergence as a new degree of freedom without the need of additional field content, and their potential as a dark matter candidate, has since motivated the search for analogous configurations in other theories.
In this work, we shall address the search for Skyrmions in electroweak-like sectors. We will briefly discuss three essential aspects of Skyrmions: 1) the requirements for their stability, 2) their existence in weakly-coupled UV completions and 3) whether high-temperature effects might aid in stabilizing them.
