Ion beam therapy: clinical interest and viability
The aim of this workshop is to analyze the current interest of beam therapy with ions at national level for the next decade, in a scenario of proton therapy implantation along the next five years as a first step. Discussion and analysis of the topics at this workshop will be steered by the perspective of the medical view.
The workshop will address the clinical challenge of ion-therapy under its three fundamental aspects: medical, technological innovation and clinical management. Thus, the technological viability, overall cost and the challenging difficulty of an efficient management of the patient flow will be examined in the aim to properly evaluate the appropriateness of such new technique.
