In this talk I will discuss how Brownian motion can be used to probe the nature of inflation in the string landscape. I will use the methods of time dependent random matrix theory to show that the sequence of events that constitutes our Universe’s history is exponentially unlikely in this framework. I will discuss the implications of these results for both
inflation and the string landscape.
