Perturbative and Non-perturbative QCD effects in Transverse Momentum Distributions

Recently the study of Transverse Momentum Distributions has received a new attention for the formulation of the factorization theorem done by Echevarría-Idilbi-Scimemi and Collins. I will review the main arguments of this new formulation of the factorization theorem and show a first application to the study of transverse momentum distribution in Drell-Yan and Z-boson production at Tevatron and LHC. This study shows how the non-perturbative QCD effects can be included in a systematic way in LHC predictions.
