Descripción
With the LHC nuclear collisions enter the TeV territory for the first time. This enlarges by orders of magnitude the phase space for QCD studies in which high temperatures or high densities are relevant. The first data from the LHC has already set the stage, the density of the produced medium is the largest ever created, while some observables seem to indicate that the viscosity could be similar to that found previously at RHIC. I will review the new theoretical developments in the field, especially those for in-medium modifications of QCD jets, a probe of the medium which becomes especially relevant at the large energies of the LHC. In sight of these developments, the new experimental data from the LHC will be commented and put into perspective.
