Description

Gravitational particle production during and after inflation provides an irreducible background for dark matter studies. This brings predictivity of non-thermal dark matter models into question. I discuss a class of freeze-in models which are free of this problem and interpolate between WIMPs and FIMPs. Unlike the traditional freeze-in models, this framework can be probed through direct dark matter detection as well as via collider observables.
