DESCRIPTION:Gravitational particle production during and after inflation p
 rovides an irreducible background for dark matter studies. This brings pre
 dictivity of non-thermal dark matter models into question. I discuss a cla
 ss of freeze-in models which are free of this problem and interpolate betw
 een WIMPs and FIMPs. Unlike the traditional freeze-in models\, this framew
 ork can be probed through direct dark matter detection as well as via coll
