Descripción

The discovery of the Higgs particle ushered in a new era of particle physics where detailed study of this particle has become of paramount importance. It addresses a series of problems of the standard model such as the identity of the dark matter, the instability of the Higgs mass, the matter dominance of our universe, among others. At present, there is a general agreement in the field that the highest priority as the next generation collider is a Higgs factory.  The  International Linear Collider (ILC) is one of a few candidates for such facility. We overview the background and the physics motivation of a Higgs factory, and review the current status of the ILC project.
