Abstract
Precision studies of fundamental interactions at hadron colliders rely on our knowledge of QCD and parton distribution
functions (PDFs). For certain collider observables sensitive to all-order resummations of QCD corrections, one needs not
only the ordinary PDFs dependent on longitudinal momenta but also transverse momentum dependent (TMD) PDFs. The evolution
with the mass scale of TMD PDFs can be formulated in a parton branching (PB) formalism, which is implementable in
Monte Carlo event generators. We investigate aspects of the PB evolution of TMDs using the Monte Carlo package Cascade
and the TMD PDF library TMDlib. We perform calculations for the transverse momentum spectra of lepton pairs produced
via Drell-Yan processes in hadronic collisions. We analyze the results for different ranges of di-lepton invariant masses,
and present comparisons with available collider measurements.
