How to get to Balatonfüred
Please note that the closest airport to Balatonfüred is in Budapest, thus if you do not drive you have to choose between bus and train to get there.
From Budapest Liszt Ferenc Airport
The easiest way to reach Balatonfüred from Budapest Airport is by bus. As you leave the terminal building you have to take the 200E bus until its final stop "Kőbánya-Kispest". You have to get on the M3 subway (This is the first stop of the subway) and get off at "Népliget". Long distance buses are operated by Volánbusz. All the long distance buses head out from the Népliget Bus Terminal "Népliget autóbusz-pályaudvar". There are 6 buses starting at:

Ticket for the long-distance buses can be bought at the kiosks in the Bus Terminal (costs around 10 Euros). To use the subway and the bus from the airport you need a separate ticket which can be bought at the airport: after you leave the baggage claim area turn to the left where there is a counter for such purchases. If you buy a line ticket you need two: one for the bus and one for the subway. You can also buy a transfer ticket which allows for one change hence one ticket is enough for both the bus and the subway.
In alternative, Balatonfüred can be reached also by train. Trains going to Balatonfüred leave from the Southbound Railway Station (Budapest-Déli). To reach it take the 200E bus from the airport and get off at the final stop "Kőbánya-Kispest". Get on the subway and change to subway no. 2 at "Deák Ferenc Tér". By car
Balatonfüred lies on the northern shore of Lake Balaton, along main road No. 71, 130 km from Budapest. Hence the easiest is to take the main road No. 71. If you are coming from Budapest, you can use the M7 highway (until the exit by the kilometer sign 90, towards Balatonfüred). Please note that to drive on all the highways in Hungary you have to have a vignette usually sold at gas stations.
