Revisiting Goldstone’s Theorem

por Prof. Luis Alvarez Gaumé (CERN & SUNY, Stony Brook)

In recent times we have learned that if in QFT, the constraint of localily and/or Lorentz invariance are lifted, the ways symmetry breaking and symmetry breaking patterns and consequences become far richer that in the standard local relativistic theory. We will present a few examples that appear in current research in condensed matter physics, and QFT in special backgrounds.
