S3 symmetry and the origin of Cabibbo mixing

In this presentation I will introduce a model based on S3 symmetry that can provide some aesthetic explanations to why are things the way they are in the quark sector. I shall also highlight how this model can be experimentally tested through the detection of new exotic particles.
