Descripción
the Standard model or its extensions (Pati-Salam, 331 etc.) can be UV completed by systems of intersecting D-branes an Open strings. These theories can be conveniently described by the so called quiver formalism. However the presence of a new class of instantons can non-pertubatively induce extra effective operators. These instantons are called exotic instantons, because of they are not existing at all in Gauge theories, i.e they are not Gauge instantons. After an introduction on quivers and stringy instantons, we describe possible implications in particle physics. In particular, we show how a neutron Majorana mass can be induced from exotic instantons. This indirect prediction will be tested in the next generation of experiments in neutron-antineutron transitions
