Descripción
We concentrate on the possibility of detecting (i) supernova neutrinos by using massive cold dark matter detectors (GERDA, SuperCDMS, etc.) and (ii) laboratory neutrinos produced near the Spallation Neutron Source facilities at Oak Ridge (COHERENT experiment, etc.). Towards this aim, the nuclear aspects of neutrino-nucleus processes are explored by computing the relevant nuclear matrix elements. We evaluate them within the context of the quasi-particle RPA using realistic strong two-body forces and obtain results with high confidence level. Other effective nuclear methods are presented and discussed too. The present study includes, besides cross sections, simulated signals expected to be recorded by nuclear detectors and also event rates (differential and total) predicted to be measured. Our original cross sections calculations are focused on measurable rates mainly for the standard model process. Moreover, we perform calculations for the various channels of the nonstandard neutrino-nucleus reactions and come out with encouraging results within the current upper limits of the corresponding exotic parameters.
