I will review the current status of the simplest grand unifications from the viewpoint of their potential testability at the current and future facilities such as Hyper-K, LBNE and/or LENA and, in particular, the necessity to go beyond the leading order approximation. In connection to that I will briefly touch upon the general issues often plaguing their predictive power such as the perturbativity loss, gravity-smearing effects etc.
