A measurement is presented of the Z boson production differential cross section as a function of Z transverse momentum. The sample of proton-proton collisions collected by the CMS experiment at the LHC at $\sqrt{s}$ = 8 TeV corresponds to an integrated luminosity of $18.4~\pm 0.5$~\pbinv. The Z bosons are identified via their decay to do-lepton pairs. The measured cross sections are well described by theoretical predictions.
