Polymer quantization is a quantum gravity framework primarily motivated by
Loop Quantum Gravity. It has different representation of basic variables and
Hilbert space than that of standard canonical quantization. In polymer
quantization, the quantum states of geometry involve a granular description
of spacetime instead of using a continuous spacetime geometry, as in
classical physics.
Our main concern is to discuss the polymer quantization of gravity with a
scalar field and analysing its dynamics in the context of homogeneous and
isotropic cosmology.
We obtain bounce in early universe whose position is dependent on initial
conditions, polymer scale of gravity and scalar field. There is asymmetry in
evolution of the universe about the bouncing point.
