This talk explores a set of conceptual and phenomenological themes within Effective Field Theories. We begin with the baryon-number–conserving dimension-6 SMEFT where we show how its parameter space is significantly reduced and structured through well-motivated flavor symmetry assumptions. Building on this we move to UV completions and illustrate—using Minimal Flavor Violation as an example—how flavor symmetry considerations can be used to chart the landscape of viable mediators and link them to characteristic low-energy signatures. The final part of the talk focuses on the lepton sector highlighting several exotic muon processes that provide a rich and experimentally accessible testing ground for precision EFT analyses.
