How to reach CIEMAT

By Taxi/VTC

Probably the best option if you are planning to come directly from the airport or the Chamartin-Clara Campoamor train station. And even from the Atocha train station due to the closure of the Metro station “Ciudad Universitaria” in September.

The fare for a ride between the airport and any point in the city center (CIEMAT included) is 33 EUR, fixed rate. It takes 25 to 35 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.

The ride between Chamartin and CIEMAT takes about 15 minutes.

By Public transportation

The closest Metro station “Ciudad Universitaria”, line 6 (grey circular line) (~15 minutes walk to CIEMAT) is closed till the end of 2025. A service of buses has been put in place, but long queues have been reported before summer.

A combination of metro till "Moncloa" and then a bus "Line 82"  is the best option to reach CIEMAT by public transportation.

To reach Moncloa by metro:  (map of metro at the end of the page)

  • From the airport
    • Line 8 (pink) from Airpot to Nuevos Ministerios Line 10 (Blue) towards Puerta del Sur, from Chamartin to Plaza de España + Line 3 (yellow) to Moncloa
