Description

The unprecedented precision of data coming from space challenges our understanding of the origin and the behaviour of particles and photons in the Galaxy. In this talk we will discuss the state of the art on our theoretical understanding of the Galactic cosmic ray physics in connection with the latest data collected by space-based experiments. We will present the most relevant open problems in the nuclear and in the leptonic sector,  and discuss how a multi-messenger approach, touching in particular photons at different wavelengths, may help in shaping our  Galaxy and the physics of its sources.
