In this talk, we will present the use and application of acoustic/ultrasonic sensors for the detection of particles in different areas: deep-sea neutrino telescopes, direct dark matter bubble chamber detectors, and for hadrontherapy monitoring. The different cases will be presented, as well as the experience of the UPV group with these detector systems.
