Description

The target of this seminar is to give an overview on the status of the so-called “LHCb flavour anomalies”. This topic encompasses some hints for discrepancies between Standard Model predictions and existing LHCb measurements. Starting with an introduction on the two main types of anomalies (from charged and neutral currents), the focus will then shift to the main experimental challenges one has to overcome in order to carry out these analyses. Some experimental techniques and strategy aspects of the analyses will be showcased. Results based on the current LHCb data sample will be discussed, and some thoughts on what we can expect from LHCb’s Run3 data will follow, possibly venturing into the impact of future upgrades too.
