Descripción

In this seminar I will focus on two important aspects of QCD non-perturbative regime: chiral symmetry and $\theta$-dependence, stressing their link with axion phenomenology. In particular, I will show some results of the computation of the topological susceptibility (both at zero and finite temperature) and of the SU(2) chiral condensate by means of methods based on the spectrum of the staggered Dirac operator. I will finally present the first computation of the so-called "strong sphaleron rate" in $N_f=2+1$ QCD, which is related to axion thermal production, by using inversion techniques.
