In this seminar, I will discuss the various new physics opportunities opened in the light of the recent coherent elastic neutrino nucleus scattering (CEvNS) data. The latter mainly concern nonstandard interactions (NSIs), sterile neutrinos, violation of lepton unitarity, electromagnetic neutrino properties etc. and their impact on direct dark matter detection. Looking at the wider picture, I will also discuss how CEvNS experiments are favorable facilities towards more general studies beyond the neutrino sector, with a special focus on axion like particle (ALP) searches.
