#Student Seminar: Broadband tuning of scalar and vector four wave mixing in optofluidic-filled MOFs

Generation of widely-spaced spectral bands through scalar and vector four wave mixing (FWM) in microstructured optical fibers (MOF) filled with opto-fluidics is investigated. The dependence of FWM phase-matching condition on the fiber chromatic dispersion and birefringence enables different mechanism for wavelength tuning of the FWM generated bands. MOFs were designed and fabricated to produce strong FWM when they were filled with different liquids (Ethanol and heavy-water) and pumped at 1064 nm.
