The top quark mass is a fundamental parameter of the Standard Model. Thus measuring its value with the highest possible precision is important. In this talk, I will summarise the top-quark mass measurement I performed as part of my PhD thesis.
The mass is measured using ttbar+jet events. Data collected by the ATLAS detector at 8 TeV is analysed and compared to available theoretical predictions.
The methodology of the analysis, its results and the evaluation of various effects related to it are discussed.
