The NA62 experiment at CERN, aiming at studies of ultra-rare decays of the charged kaon at record single event sensitivities of about 10^{-12}, is currently in the final stage of construction and commissioning. NA62 physics programme and experimental challenges will be discussed. Selected recent results from the previous kaon experiments at CERN will also be presented.
