Descripción
With the name of Tensor Network States, we refer to different families of states, designed to efficiently describe the states of quantum many-body systems. In the last years these families have revealed as very promising methods to study the Physics of strongly correlated systems. Quantum information gives us some tools to understand why they are expected to be good ansatzes for the physically relevant states, and some of the limitations connected to the simulation algorithms. In this talk I will present the key ideas underlying these techniques and the basic algorithms that deal with them, for computing static and dynamical properties. I will also present some ongoing work regarding their possible application to lattice gauge theories.
