Dear colleagues,
this is a summary of our discussions in the last 3 days, conclusions and action items.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1) On analysis tools:
1.1)
To develop, share and maintain a flexible code to interface your C++ analysis with the DnPD in several formats (Ej: TopDPDMaker produced "a la TopView" ntuples, ARATopQuarkAnalysis, SingleTopDPDMaker..etc). This code will be compile together with the rest of your analysis and linked with ROOT. This code will build arrays of objects, instances of "extended class TLorentz vectors" in which to dump the collection of physics objects (electrons, muons, jets,taus,bjets..) and it will allow to do user dependent overlap removal and preselection.
1.2) To develop, share and maintain complementary strategies to submit analysis jobs into the GRID: WITH & WITHOUT GANGA.
1.3) To develop and share a common list of samples for Top quark physics. (It will allow to optimize the
use of available GRID resources in the common cloud)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2) Preselection of physics objects: we need to work in close contact with performance groups.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3) On analysis schedule:
New studies are encourage by June 2009 to be presented in the ATLAS collaboration in order to be shown
outside in summer conferences. This feasibility studies should focuse on evaluating the ATLAS sensitivity
at 10 TeV assuming Lint=200-300 pb-1.
Several issues were identified that will allow a future collaboration among several groups involving theoreticians and
experimentalists at the network:
3.1) The measurement and theoretical understanding of the M(tt-bar) differential cross section. The search for tt-bar resonances is also important at 10 TeV.
3.2) The W polarization measurements using tau leptons: these studies have never been done at ATLAS. The tau identification is also crucial for ATLAS and for the Top group. It has been proposed that Teresa and Susana will contact
Ivo and Gustaaf to bring their tau expertise to the newly created Top Reconstruction group.

Thanks a lot for your participation !
