Towards automation of NLO calculations: W+3jet production at hadron colliders

I report on the first complete next-to-leading order calculation of W + 3 jet production at hadron colliders, based on arXiv:0902.2760. The loop matrix elements are calculated by the newly developed code BlackHat which uses unitarity techniques. The real correction and subtraction terms are provided by the event generator Sherpa. Results are compared Tevatron data, where the agreement is significantly improved compared to leading order calculations. First predictions for LHC are presented.
