Descripción
Magnus expansion is a tool to solve time-dependent linear ordinary differential equations (LODE) in such a way that the approximate solutions preserve known qualitative behaviour of the exact solution. Symplectic character in Classical Mechanics and unitarity in quantum evolution are two examples. In the seminar, Magnus expansion will be reviewed and recent results and applications presented.
