Screened nucleon-nucleon cross section in relativistic nuclear matter

We analyze the screening effects on the nucleon-nucleon cross-section, as due to the modifications introduced by the nuclear medium on the propagation of the mesons which mediate the interaction. We work in a relativistic lagrangian model with sigma, omega and pi meson exchange and take into account renormalized vacuum contributions and sigma-omega mixing. The total and differential elastic proton-proton cross section are calculated at finite density, temperature and background fluid velocity. The results are compared with experimental constraints when available.
