DESCRIPTION:Nuclear beta decay is possibly the most investigated of all we
ak interaction processes. It has served in the past as a convenient way th
rough which some of the fundamental properties of the weak interaction wer
e established. Beta decay provides still today a powerful testing ground f
or models of nuclear structure and offers a window to search for new physi
cs beyond the standard electroweak model in processes involving the lighte
st quarks.\n\nIn this presentation\, we will review the place of nuclear b
eta decay in searches for new physics highlighting some remarkable results
. The presentation will also discuss current activities involving high-pre
 cision measurements of beta-decay observables.\n\nZoom link\n\n\n\n \n\nh
