DESCRIPTION:The Standard Model is incredibly successful\, yet one piece of
  it\, the Higgs boson\, has never been seen.  Furthermore the mechanism fo
 r the Higgs to give masses to the other particles has serious problems.  A
 fter reviewing this situation I will discuss some alternative scenarios th
 at do not rely on the existence of a Higgs boson.  I will discuss two diff
 erent approaches\; one using extra dimensions and one relying on magnetic
