DESCRIPTION:With the discovery of the Higgs boson\, the Standard Model of
particle physics has achieved remarkable completeness\; nevertheless\, it
still leaves several fundamental questions unanswered. The particle physic
s community is therefore searching for subtle deviations from Standard Mod
el predictions or rare phenomena that could point the way toward new physi
cs. Achieving this goal requires next-generation colliders that push the l
imits of both energy and statistical precision.\n\nThe Large Hadron Collid
er (LHC) is now entering a new era with its upgrade to the High-Luminosity
LHC (HL-LHC). To fully exploit the potential of this enhanced accelerator
\, the experiments themselves must also undergo major upgrades. In the ATL
AS experiment\, the inner detector will be replaced by the new Inner Track
er (ITk)\, a fully silicon-based system designed to extend tracking covera
ge and enhance spatial and timing resolution\, while operating in an excep
tionally harsh radiation environment.\n\nThis talk will highlight key achi
evements and lessons learned throughout the research\, development\, and p
roduction phases of the ITk\, which is poised to become the most advanced
tracking detector ever built.\n\nLink to the colloquium\n\n\n\nhttps://ind
