The NEXT experiment aims to search for neutrinoless double beta decay in 136Xe using a high-pressure xenon gas time projection chamber (HPXe-TPC), combining excellent energy resolution with topological event reconstruction to suppress backgrounds.
In this talk, I will introduce the experimental concept and the current status of the NEXT-100 detector, including highlights from the commissioning phase such as calibration procedures. Finally, I will show the first measurements of the detector's energy resolution and discuss their impact on the projected sensitivity of NEXT-100.
