The last few decades have experienced a revolution in astroparticle physics. Although much progress has been made, there remains many outstanding questions to be adressed, among them, the origin of Dark Matter and the nature of the neutrino. Underground labs have played and will play a fundamental role in answering these questions. In particular, the new underground laboratory at Canfranc, may play a fundamental role in astroparticle physics in Europe in the forthcoming years.
