Description

This seminar introduces the fundamentals of quantum computing and quantum machine learning, focusing on their potential applications in particle physics. We explore how quantum algorithms can potentially improve key computational tasks in high-energy physics. Some applications discussed include quantum algorithms for jet clustering, Monte Carlo integration of Feynman loop integrals and calculation of decay rates, and quantum generative models for fragmentation functions. We analyze both the promising potential and current limitations of these quantum methods, providing insight into the future utility of these techniques in particle physics.
