DESCRIPTION:EGEE (Enabling Grids for EscienE) is a EU supported project th
 at integrates current international\, national\, regional and thematic Gri
 d efforts\, in order to create a seamless Grid infrastructure for the supp
 ort of the international scientific research. The infrastructure supports 
 distributed research communities\, which share common Grid computing needs
  and are prepared to integrate their own computing\ninfrastructures and ag
 ree on common access policies. \nSeveral scientific disciplines as well as
  industry have already ported applications on the EGEE Grid infrastructure
  thus demonstrating the potential of Grid technology as a powerful new too
 l for science as well as other fields.\nThe talk will provide an update on
  the status of the EGEE infrastructure and middleware\, give an overview o
 f the variety of applications already using the Grid\, as well as presenti
