DESCRIPTION:Neutral Long-lived particles (LLPs) are challenging to detect
directly on the collider due to their long lifetimes and limited geometric
acceptance of modern detectors. New experiments like MATHUSLA aim to over
come these challenges by exploiting the high-energy potential of the LHC a
nd proposing detectors shielded from QCD background. MATHUSLA\, with its l
arge size and proximity to the Interaction Point\, seeks to explore physic
s beyond the Standard Model (BSM) and uncover hidden sector physics. By de
tecting LLPs with lifetimes up to 0.1 sec\, MATHUSLA bridges collider phys
ics and cosmology\, potentially revealing particles linked to early univer
se phenomena. However\, understanding background sources are necessary. On
e of the possible background is KL decays from secondary protons of cosmic
. This work focuses on estimation the contribution of KL decays to the MAT
HUSLA background throughout its lifetime\, providing valuable insights for
  future analyses. \n\nhttps://indico.ific.uv.es/event/7518/
