More than hundred years ago, Victor Hess discovered that radiation in the air increased as you go higher in the atmosphere, which could not be understood with the Earth crust being the only source of radiation. Today we know that there is a flux of particles that we call Cosmic Rays (CR) reaching the atmosphere from everywhere in the Universe producing this radiation. There is evidence for this flux reaching energies of the EeV ( 7 orders over the LHC energy !!), but what phenomena produces such energetic particles, or where is it happening, remains still a mystery.
However, not all hope is lost, as neutrinos might be hiding the key to unveil the origin of CR in the very near future. In this talk we will explain how this can be done from such an unusual site as the sea abyss with the ANTARES experiment.
