DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Alberto Valero ()\nTileCal is the hadron calorimeter
covering the central region of the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron C
ollider. It is a sampling detector made of iron as absorber and scintillat
or as active material. The light produced by charged particles crossing th
e scintillator tiles is collected by photomultiplier tubes (PMTs). The PMT
signals are digitized synchronously with the LHC clock\, and the samples
corresponding to events selected by the Level 1 trigger system are transmi
tted to the Read-Out Drivers (RODs) located in the back-end system at a ma
ximum sustained rate of 100 kHz. The ROD is the core element of the back-e
nd electronics\, and it represents the interface between the front-end ele
ctronics and the ATLAS overall Data AcQuisition (DAQ) system. It is respon
sible for energy and time reconstruction\, trigger and data synchronizatio
n\, busy handling\, data integrity checking and lossless data compression.
The IFIC-TileCal group was responsible for the design\, production\, inst
allation and now the maintenance of the ROD system until the end of Run 3.
\n\n\n\nThe High-Luminosity Large Hadron Collider (HL-LHC) experiments wil
l operate at unprecedented values of peak luminosity and levels of pileup.
The ATLAS trigger and readout architecture has been redefined. TileCal wi
ll read out the PMTs signals for every bunch crossing before any trigger s
election is applied\, which implies a total bandwidth of 40 Tbps. These da
ta will be processed by the PreProcessors (PPr) located in the off-detecto
r electronics. The PPr modules will implement the interface with the fully
digital Level 0 trigger and ATLAS overall DAQ and detector control system
 s. The TilePPr is a modular ATCA system composed of a custom ATCA Carrier
board equipped with 4 Compact Processing Modules (CPM) and several mezzani
ne cards. The IFIC-TileCal group is responsible for the hardware and firmw
are designs\, production\, installation and maintenance of the PPr modules
.\n\nThis presentation will provide an overview of the current and future
systems for the HL-LHC\, including a thorough explanation of the ongoing h
ardware and firmware developments within the IFIC-TileCal group.\n\nhttps:

ha adaptado el sistema de lectura Tofpet2 comercializado por PETsys elect
ronics\, desarrollado para aplicaciones PET\, a una cámara Compton (MACAC
Op). Para ello se diseñaron y fabricaron diversas placas adaptadoras.\n\n
Por último\, en fase de testeo se encuentra también el diseño de un nue
vo sistema de lectura para fotomultiplicadores de silicio el cual integra
el ASIC HRFlexToT desarrollado por la Universidad de Barcelona. \n________
_____________\nThe AliVATA board has been developed by the IRIS Group\, wh
ich allows operating multiple types of detectors (scintillator crystals to
gether with silicon photomultipliers\, silicon detectors or microdosimeter
 s) and is used by the group for the third version of the Compton telescope
for hadronic therapy monitoring.\n \nA variety of PCBs that house the det
ectors have been developed over the course of time according to the requir
ements of the system. \n\nAt the same time\, the Tofpet2 readout system co
mmercialized by PETsys electronics\, developed for PET applications\, has
been adapted to a Compton camera (MACACOp). Various adapter boards were de
signed and fabricated for this purpose.\n\nFinally\, the design of a new r

DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Ricardo Marco Hernández (IFIC)\nEn esta contribuci

DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Jose Mazorra de Cos (IFIC)\nThe LHCb has requested a
second detector upgrade for LHC LS4 (2033-34) to further intensify the op
erational luminosity and collect up to $300fb^-1$ of additional data. The
expected occupancy and radiation levels largely exceed the capabilities of
the current ECAL design\, which already had planned the replacement of th
e most inner section during the UpgradeIb detector consolidation taking pl
ace at LHC LS3 (2026-2028). Extensive R&D has been carried out since 2018
to develop suitable calorimeter modules for the new PicoCal calorimeter to
installed in LHCb UpgradeII\, but the collaboration already has the inten
t of including them at the UpgradeIb detector consolidation phase. A new a
nalog readout ASIC in TSMC 65nm CMOS technology has been proposed to perfo
rm the energy integration measurement of these new modules. Despite follow
ing a similar processing strategy as its predecessor\, the limited supply
voltage of the selected technology\, which intrinsically provides the requ
ired radiation hardness\, entails great challenges to the analog design in
terms of noise and dynamic range. An additional COTS-based stage is also
considered to condition the signal coming from the photo-sensors\, connect
ed through a long (up to $20m$) analog link with the readout electronics.
This circuit will have to counteract the effects of these long cables and
preserve enough SNR to allow for the intended time measurement with a reso
 lution in the $10ps$ range.\n\nhttps://indico.ific.uv.es/event/6924/contri

DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Carlos Gaspar Benitez Montiel (IFIC)\nThe Deep Under
ground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE) will be an experiment in neutrino physic
 s. DUNE will consist of two detector locations\, one located at the Fermi
National Accelerator Laboratory near neutrino production\, and a Far Detec
tor at the Sanford Underground Research Facility\, South Dakota. The far d
etector consists of 4 liquid argon tanks of 10-kilotons fiducial mass each
used to detect the charge and light produced in liquid argon by neutrino
interactions. The photons generated will be detected by Silicon Photomulti
plier Sensors (SiPMs). Since there is a great quantity of light sensors fo
r the experiment\, it is necessary to design a system for their massive ch
aracterization. For this reason we are designing MASSIBO (Massive SiPM Cha
racterization Boards)\, an automatic system which consists of electronic b
oards for the amplification\, multiplexing and digitization of the sensor
signals. Currently\, the DUNE laboratory at IFIC is working on the first p
rototype using the amplification and the multiplexing boards for the valid
ation of the system. The first complete version or V1 of MASSIBO is expect
ed to be available by August 2023\, and it will be capable of obtaining al
l the necessary data from 180 sensors every 6 hours.\n\nhttps://indico.ifi

DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Diego Real Mañez (IFIC)\, David Calvo (IFIC)\nThe K
M3NeT Collaboration is incrementally building and operating two deep sea n
eutrino telescopes at the bottom of the Mediterranean Sea. The telescopes
consist of matrices of photomultipliers housed in pressure-resistant glass
spheres\, the so-called Digital Optical Modules which houses 31 small pho
tocatode photomultipliers. The IFIC group in KM3NeT has led the developmen
t of the acquisition electronics as well as the design of the time calibra
tion device housed in the Digital Optical Module\, the Nanobeacon. For the
first phase of the construction of the telescopes\, there have been produ
ced several tens of Detection Units\, of which 36 have already been deploy
ed with more than 20000 photomultipliers installed. Once finished\, the tw
o telescopes will have installed more than ten thousand acquisition nodes\
, completing one of the more complex networks in the world in terms of ope
ration and synchronisation. This work presents the developments carried ou
t at IFIC for the development of the KM3NeT acquisition electronics and th
 e time calibration instrumentation.\n\nhttps://indico.ific.uv.es/event/692
