DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Miguel Angel Sanchis Lozano (IFIC-University of Vale
ncia)\nCorrelations play a fundamental role in many branches of physics\,
from quantum mechanics to particle physics and cosmology. In particular\,
the astonishing homogeneity of the angular distribution of the Cosmic Micr
owave Background (CMB) radiation across the sky (measured with high precis
ion by WMAP and Planck missions) requires of an inflationary epoch right a
fter the Big Bang to solve the horizon problem. However\, still some anoma
lies like the lack of positive large-angle correlations show up in the stu
dy of the CMB\, likely indicating the need of a better understanding of th
e universe evolution. \nAngular correlations in high-energy collisions als
o could play an important role to uncover a possible non-conventional stag
e of matter (e.g. from Hidden Valley models) produced on top of the QCD pa
rtonic cascade followed by final hadronization. Indeed\, new physics beyon
d the SM could stretch and enhance (pseudo)rapidity and azimuthal 2- and 3
-particle correlations in high-energy collisions. We explore a suggestive
cosmological analogy together with the physical potential of this techniqu
e to detect new physics in hadronic collisions at the LHC\, and more clean
 ly at future e+e- colliders. \n\nRelated papers:\nhttps://arxiv.org/pdf/22
