Description

A complex scalar singlet could provide a dark matter (DM) candidate, whose stability is guaranteed by a discrete symmetry: dark CP. In this talk, we briefly review the main evidences and properties of DM, and study a suitable DM candidate which emerges from a complex scalar singlet. Our analysis is based on the possible discrete symmetries that the complex scalar has, which yield different minimal models for DM. Finally, we present the results for the parameter space of the complex scalar that can account for the observed relic abundance.
