DESCRIPTION:Despite the Standard Model’s (SM) success at explaining phen
omenon in the strong and electromagnetic sectors\, the weak sector\, speci
fically neutrinos\, pose some challenges to it. Furthermore\, the observat
ion of dark matter (DM) among other observations heavily implies that we m
ust expand the particle content of the SM. These facts combined have made
neutrino observatories a popular setting for searches for beyond SM partic
les\; however\, no such search has found conclusive evidence of new physic
s so far. With a new generation of neutrino detectors being designed\, it
is important to understand how design decisions affect sensitivity to diff
erent BSM models so that we can optimize this next generation to find new
physics. In this seminar\, I will show the results of IceCube’s most rec
ent solar DM search\, as well as introduce a new tool\, Prometheus\, which
allows for open-source simulation of neutrino telescopes which may help g
uide the next generation of telescopes.\n\n \n\nLink to recorded colloqui
