Understanding the hadron spectrum from the fundamental QCD Lagrangian is probably the ultimate challenge in hadronic physics. In this respect, the study of mesons containing a heavy quark-antiquark pair is of major interest, since they possess properties that greatly simplify their treatment. In this seminar, we will see how the potentials calculated in Lattice QCD may be used to explain many of the heavy-quark mesons observed in collider experiments.
