The QCD axion and its cosmological implications

by Mario Reig (IFIC (UVEG/CSIC) Valencia)

In this talk I will give a brief and pedagogical introduction to the Peccei-Quinn solution of the strong CP problem. After reviewing basic axion phenomenology I will discuss a couple of cosmological implications of the model, namely the production of cold Dark Matter and the formation of topological defects.
